Siyum Scheduled for Thursday, April 7th

Parents,
I have scheduled the Siyum celebration for the 4th Grade on Thursday, April 7th at 11:15 until 12:45. You are invited for the regular school lunch from 11:15-11:45 in the old library. After lunch the 4th grade will perform a play about our Parasha in the shul and we will serve dessert afterwards for everyone!

Mazel Tov 4th Grade!

The 4th Grade has finally finished Parashat Vayetze! We have now starting working on our siyum play. The date for the siyum will be coming soon. Please make sure your student practices and startes to memorize his/her part for the play.

Parashat Pekudei 3/4/11
Dear Parents,

This has been a very busy week for us! We are close to finishing Parashat VaYetzei so stay tuned for news about our Siyum. We also started learning the various laws and customs around the holiday of Purim. Please remind your child to bring a funny, crazy hat to wear on Monday since Monday is Rosh Chodesh Adar II. When Adar comes we do fun things to make us even happier then we are the rest of the year! Here are some questions you can ask your child this Shabbat:

1. What did Yaakov do after he became wealthy with the sheep of Lavan? (He packed up and left without telling Lavan he was going.)

2. Why did he run away without telling Lavan? (He was afraid that Lavan would force him to stay.)

3. What did Rachel do before they left? (She stole the idols of Lavan)

4. Why did Rachel do this? (She wanted to keep Lavan from worshiping idols.)

5. Where did Yaakov go? (Har Gilad)

6. How many days was it before Lavan found out that Yaakov had run away? (3 days)

7. How many days did it take Lavan to catch up? (7 days)

8. What did Hashem do when Lavan reached Har Gilad? (He appeared to him in a dream and told him not to speak good or bad to Yaakov.)

9. Summarize what Lavan said to Yaakov when he met him there? (Lavan asked him why he ran away taking his daughters and children like captives when he would have sent him away with song and joy. He prevented him from even being able to kiss his family goodbye. He also said that he had the power to hurt him if it wouldn’t have been for Hashem telling him not to hurt him! Also, why did he steal his idols from him?)

Test on Tommorrow!

Parents,
Your 4th grader has a Chumash test tommorrow on Thursday. They need to study their 4 worksheets (they know which ones!). Please help them if you can.

Navi test scheduled for the 4th grade!

Parents,
Your child will be having a test on Navi on Monday, Jan. 10th. They need to study three worksheets for the test. They are for Chapters 2, 3 and 4. Some of the students are missing some of the information. I will be catching them up this week and we will be studying together as well. Please help your child study this week. Studying will be this week's homework assignment. There are vocabulary words and phrases as well as questions to study. The test will be taken from all these review sheets.
